walk around Arrow Valley with Primary 1

The pupils enjoyed walking along the river in Arrow Valley where they started to throw sticks into the river seeing who could throw their's further. Each pupil took it in turns to find a stick and then see how far they could get it. The pupils walked along the paths talking about what views they could see. One of the pupils said "There are geeses". The pupils started to make quack noises saying that they were talking in their language. As we were walking the pupils started to show an interest in picking up stones and skimming them into the river by counting how many drops they had made. Another pupil went over to help their peer as they began to demonstrate what technique to use. As one of the pupils were throwing their stone into the river it sunk and they reacted with "that was too heavy".
