The pupils enjoyed walking around Hartlebury Common as they found sticks to make patterns in the sand and to help themselves walk down the hills. One of the pupils showed an interest in using their stick to move the bushes and tree branches away from the paths as they supported the other pupils and teachers by saying "be careful" and "there you go". As we were walking the pupils enjoyed looking at the views as we talked about what we could such as "look I can see the minibus from here ". The pupils also used their bodies to climb to the top of the trees as they said to the teachers "you look small from here".
This blog highlights the wealth of activities the children at Riversides School experience during their weekly Outdoor Education lessons. The range of opportunities coupled with the diverse settings we visit enable the children to explore and engage in learning in a wide variety of ways. This also allows for cross curricular links to ICT, English, Science and Maths.
