This blog highlights the wealth of activities the children at Riversides School experience during their weekly Outdoor Education lessons. The range of opportunities coupled with the diverse settings we visit enable the children to explore and engage in learning in a wide variety of ways. This also allows for cross curricular links to ICT, English, Science and Maths.

walk to Cripple Gate Park with Year 7B
As we were walking the pupils collected parts of the old road and talked about how it felt and where abouts in the road the piece fitted. As we got to the park the pupils enjoyed climbing on the different sections of the climbing frame. The pupils showed an interest on the zip wire as they worked together to help one another onto the sit by lifting each other up. The pupils also enjoyed seeing how fast each one of them could go by exploring different actions of jumping and guiding one another to the other side of the zip wire.
