The pupils gathered in a group as the teacher explained what the aim of the lesson was such as; for each of the pupils to give it a go at climbing and to take it in turns with their peers, and what the safety rules were for climbing the rock walls as well as how to land on the soft flooring correctly for example: when you start to loss your balance and fall, you just land on your bottom, this was followed up by an demonstration. All of the pupils enjoyed having a go at climbing to the top or as far as they felt comfortable as they also communicated with encouragement to one another to achieve the goal of climbing the different shaped and sized walls.
